In a dangerous escalation that confirms the continuity of the criminal approach of the criminal regime and its allies against the Syrian people, and disregarding the principles of International Humanitarian Law or the current understandings and agreements, the warplanes targeted with three air strikes a school in the village of Barad, southwest of Afrin, which led, as an initial outcome, to the fall of four martyrs and many others injured, while causing extensive damage to the surrounding houses and other public and private properties

This crime adds to the criminal record of the murderous regime and its allies, and confirms the impossibility of reaching with them any political solution in the future of Syria. At the same time, it was the result of the international community's failure to take a deterrent position to stop the continuous series of crimes against the Syrian people

What is currently happening of crimes and brutality against our people is a setback to human values and moral standards and a disregard for international legitimacy, and requires the international community to assume their responsibilities to stop these crimes, deter the regime and its allies, and hold them accountable for all war crimes and crimes against humanity committed against the Syrian people

We -in the Syrian Interim Government- condemn this cowardly, treacherous attack and call on the United Nations to respect its charter and the principles of international legitimacy, and to hold the regime and its allies accountable for the war crimes and crimes against humanity they have committed against our people. We affirm that no matter how brutal and criminal they may be, they will not undermine our people's determination and insistence to continue their revolution until victory is achieved
