يصادف يوم 30 آب من كل عام إحياء المجتمع الدولي ذكرى ضحايا الاختفاء القسري. نستحضر بألم معاناة مئات الآلاف من السوريين المختفين قسرياً في معتقلات عصابات الأسد ومليشيا PKK/PYD الإرهابية، وما يتعرضون له من أساليب التعذيب الوحشي بعد أن اتخذت تلك الجهات المجرمة من عمليات الاختفاء القسري سياسة ممنهجة لقمع الشعب وترهيبه.
في هذه المناسبة نقف بإجلال واحترام أمام تضحيات السوريين ولا سيما المختفين قسرياً وذويهم وما يتعرضون له من عذاب وقهر وابتزاز ونسعى بكل السُبل لخلاصهم من أقبية الظلم والاستبداد.
إن الممارسات الوحشية المتمثلة في الإخفاء القسري تعتبر من أكثر الجرائم التي يتعرض لها شعبنا منذ أكثر من ثلاثة عشر عاماً، وقد كشفت صور قيصر ومجزرة حي التضامن وغيرهما عن جزء يسير من الحجم الهائل للمحرقة التي يعيشها المعتقلون والمختفون قسرياً في سجون عصابات الأسد ومليشيا PKK/PYD الإرهابية.
ومع كل أسف لم يبذل المجتمع الدولي جهوداً حقيقية للضغط على تلك القوى المجرمة للكشف عن مصير المعتقلين والمختفين قسراً مما جعلها تتمادى في طغيانها وإجرامها دون رادع.
وحتى الآن فإن قرار الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة الصادر في ٢٩ حزيران ٢٠٢٣ للكشف عن مصير المفقودين في سوريا، لم يقترن بالآليات اللازمة للكشف عن مصير جميع المعتقلين منذ العام ٢٠١١ وإطلاق سراحهم دون إبطاء، تمهيداً لمحاسبة جميع المتورطين في تلك الممارسات اللاإنسانية وكافة الجرائم والانتهاكات التي وقعت بحق الشعب السوري.
ونؤكد أن ملف المعتقلين والمغيبين قسرياً هو ملف إنساني فوق كل اعتبارات التفاوض، ولن تنجح الجهود الساعية للحل الشامل قبل الكشف عن مصيرهم وإطلاق سراحهم دون قيد أو شرط، ومحاسبة كل المتورطين في هذه الجريمة النكراء.
Statement
On the International Day of the Forced Disappearance Victims
On August 30th each year, the international community commemorates the victims of forced disappearance. We painfully recall the suffering of hundreds of thousands of Syrians who have been forcibly disappeared in the prisons of Assad's gangs and the terrorist PKK/PYD militias, subjected to brutal torture by these criminal entities, which have adopted forced disappearance as a systematic policy to oppress and terrorize the people.
On this occasion, we stand in reverence and respect for the sacrifices of Syrians, especially those forcibly disappeared and their families, who endure torment, oppression, and extortion. We strive by all means to rescue them from the dungeons of injustice and tyranny.
The brutal practices of forced disappearance are among the most heinous crimes our people have faced for over thirteen years. The Caesar photos, the Tadamon neighborhood massacre, and others have revealed only a fraction of the immense scale of the holocaust that detainees and forcibly disappeared individuals endure in the prisons of Assad's gangs and the terrorist PKK/PYD militias.
Regrettably, the international community has not made genuine efforts to pressure these criminal forces to reveal the fate of the detainees and forcibly disappeared individuals, allowing them to continue their tyranny and crimes without restraint.
To date, the United Nations General Assembly resolution of June 29, 2023, regarding the disclosure of the fate of the missing in Syria, has not been accompanied by the necessary mechanisms to uncover the fate of all detainees since 2011 and to release them without delay, paving the way for holding all those involved in these inhumane practices and all crimes and violations against the Syrian people accountable.
We emphasize that the issue of detainees and forcibly disappeared persons is a humanitarian matter above all negotiation considerations. Efforts toward a comprehensive solution will not succeed before their fate is revealed, they are released without condition, and all those involved in this heinous crime are held accountable.
