أصدر الاتحاد الأوربي اليوم (24 نيسان 2023) بياناً أكد بموجبه فرض حزمة جديدة من العقوبات التي استهدفت 25 شخصية و8 كيانات تابعين لنظام الأسد المجرم تبعاً لمسؤوليتهم عن إنتاج المخدرات والاتجار بها، وبهدف الحد من السياسات القمعية التي ينتهجها النظام ضد الشعب السوري.

نرحب في الحكومة السورية المؤقتة بهذا القرار الهام في مدلولاته وتوقيته، إذ تذكر هذه العقوبات في الوقت نفسه بالجرائم والانتهاكات التي مازال النظام وميليشياته ماضين في ارتكابها بحق المدنيين في سورية، وتؤكد على مدى خطورة هذه المنظومة -غير القابلة للتأهيل- على الأمن والاستقرار الإقليمي والدولي.

وفي هذا الصدد نجدد دعوة المجتمع الدولي إلى اتخاذ المزيد من الإجراءات الجادة لزيادة عزلة هذه العصابة المجرمة وتطبيق العدالة عبر مساءلتها عن كل الجرائم والانتهاكات التي ارتكبتها بحق السوريين.

Statement The EU Issued Sanctioned the Criminal Assad Regime

Today (April 24, 2023), the European Union issued a statement confirming the imposition of a new package of sanctions that targeted 25 individuals and 8 entities affiliated with the criminal Assad regime, due to their responsibility for drug production and trafficking, and with the aim of reducing the regime's repressive policies against the Syrian people.

The Syrian Interim Government welcomes this important decision in terms of its implications and timing, as these sanctions remind at the same time of the crimes and violations that the regime and its militias continue to commit against civilians in Syria, and emphasize the extent of the danger of this junta - which cannot be rehabilitated - on regional and international security and stability.

In this regard, we renew the call on the international community to take more serious measures to increase the isolation of this criminal gang and to implement justice by holding it accountable for all the crimes and violations it committed against the Syrian people.
